Justin was raised in Connecticut and relocated to the Central Coast in 2008. He earned his Bachelor's degree in anthropology from Pomona College, followed by a Master's degree and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (now known as Sofia University). He obtained his license as a psychologist in 2011.
In his work within psychedelic-assisted therapy, Justin brings a unique blend of perspectives. During his undergraduate years, he initiated the study of medical practices in indigenous cultures, many of which involved the use of psychedelic plants. After a period of applied anthropology through organizational consulting, he pursued his graduate studies at an institution co-founded by Dr. James Fadiman, a leading authority on the transformative potential of psychedelics. Before establishing his private practice, Justin worked with adults in various mental health settings, including community, university, correctional, and integrated medical environments. His primary focus is on guiding individuals through healing and personal growth in adulthood.
In his free time, Justin enjoys quiet contemplation, playing the guitar, and riding his motorcycle. He has been married for 13 years, shares his home with two large dogs, and has a deep passion for gourmet cuisine. Additionally, he enjoys reading historical biographies, indulging in sci-fi movies, and getting his hands dirty in his backyard garden. For him, a perfect day involves being at the beach with his dogs, soaking in their boundless joy as they frolic across the sandy shores.
Note: While we collaborate closely, Justin owns and operates his own private practice which is independent from Innerbloom Ketamine Therapy PC.
