Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a powerful therapeutic model that combines the dissociative, neuroplastic effects of ketamine with the structure and support of guided psychotherapy. At Innerbloom, KAP provides a safe and transformative space for individuals to explore emotional wounds, uncover new insights, and begin meaningful healing.
Unlike traditional talk therapy alone, KAP allows patients to access deeper layers of consciousness, reduce psychological defenses, and accelerate breakthroughs in treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, anxiety, grief, and trauma.
Each KAP experience is carefully designed to meet you where you are. The process typically includes:
Sessions take place in a calm, supportive environment, with your emotional safety and personal growth at the center of everything we do.
KAP may be a good fit for individuals who:
If you’re unsure whether KAP is right for you, our team is here to help you evaluate your options.
Cindy Nelson is our certified ketamine-assisted psychotherapist here at Innerbloom Ketamine Therapy, will guide you through every step:
You’ll begin by discussing your personal goals—whether you’re seeking relief from depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, or another challenge—and learning how ketamine promotes neuroplasticity to support lasting change.
Throughout the treatment process, Cindy offers gentle, expert support. She helps you engage with any imagery, thoughts, or emotions that arise, turning them into tools for exploring deeper subconscious patterns.
In between infusion sessions, Cindy helps you apply your insights. She guides you in turning them into simple steps, using fresh perspectives to support healing. This integration process fosters lasting changes in thought, behavior, and well-being.
You’re welcome to work with Cindy for deeper integration. Sessions are out-of-pocket; if cost is a concern, let us know so we can discuss alternative support options.

While we collaborate closely, Cindy Nelson and our referral partners maintain private practices that are independent from Innerbloom Ketamine Therapy PC.
At Innerbloom Ketamine Therapy, we approach Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy with deep respect for the therapeutic process. Our philosophy is rooted in:
Patient-led pacing:
You’re in charge of your journey, and we adjust to your needs.
Trauma-informed care:
Our therapists are trained to create emotionally safe, nonjudgmental spaces.
Collaborative support:
Our clinical and therapeutic teams work together to provide comprehensive care.
Holistic intention:
We aim not just for symptom relief, but for transformation, resilience, and reconnection with self.
For all IV ketamine infusion patients, we require a minimum of three psychotherapy sessions with Cindy:
Preparation Session – Before starting infusions, patients meet with Cindy to set clear goals and intentions. She also offers insight and guidance to help them navigate the psychedelic experience safely and meaningfully.
Mid-Treatment Session – Typically after two infusions, patients meet with Cindy again to check in, reflect on their experience so far, and adjust intentions or focus as needed.
Final Integration Session – After completing all six infusions, patients meet with Cindy to debrief and create a plan for lifestyle changes and mental health support moving forward.
While three sessions are the minimum required, patients are strongly encouraged to schedule additional sessions for deeper integration and support. The most comprehensive care package includes seven sessions—one before treatment and one following each infusion—which offers consistent therapeutic guidance throughout the entire journey.
Both clinical research and our experience show that psychotherapy significantly enhances the effectiveness of ketamine therapy. We encourage patients to take full advantage of this integrative model whenever possible to enhance results and foster longer lasting change.
Cindy’s psychotherapy sessions are $170 per 50-minute session and are always scheduled on separate days from the infusions. (Before an infusion is okay, but just not afterwards). Since we use psychedelic doses of ketamine, not psycholytic doses, Cindy does not conduct talk therapy during the infusion itself.
Is Cindy available for therapy sessions in person or virtually?
Yes, Cindy Nelson, LMFT, is available for therapy sessions either in person at our clinic or remotely via Zoom, depending on your preference and scheduling needs.
Will Cindy be present in the room during ketamine sessions?
Cindy does not typically sit in the treatment room during ketamine sessions. However, she remains closely involved in the therapeutic process and is available to provide preparation and integration support. In certain special circumstances, in-room support may be arranged if clinically appropriate.
